General Questions
What is Tinker Tone?
Tinker Tone is an AI-powered writing assistant that learns your unique communication style and helps you write content that sounds authentically you—just polished and professional. It works across emails, documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and notes. Unlike generic AI tools, Tinker Tone preserves your voice while improving clarity, tone, and effectiveness.
How does Tinker Tone work?
Tinker Tone uses advanced AI language models to analyze your writing style from samples you provide. It creates a personalized voice profile that captures your unique tone, vocabulary, and communication patterns. When you use Tinker Tone to rewrite content, it applies your voice profile to ensure the result sounds like you.
Is Tinker Tone secure?
Yes. We take security seriously. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). We maintain SOC 2-ready architecture with enterprise-grade security controls and offer BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) encryption for enhanced data protection.
Do you store my content?
By default, we process your content in real-time and do not store it permanently. Content is only retained temporarily during processing and then deleted. You can opt-in to allow us to use anonymized data to improve our AI models, but this is entirely optional.
Pricing & Billing
How much does Tinker Tone cost?
We offer several pricing tiers: a 14-day free trial (no credit card required), Starter ($15/month, 750 rewrites) for solo professionals, Team ($25/user/month, 1,500 rewrites) for groups that need consistency, Business ($35/user/month, 2,000 rewrites) with SSO and audit logging, and custom Enterprise plans. Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. You'll retain access until the end of your current billing period, and your data will be retained for 30 days in case you want to reactivate.
Do you offer refunds?
We offer refunds on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of purchase for new subscriptions. Contact our support team to request a refund. Refunds are not available for renewals or partial billing periods.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) through our secure payment processor, Stripe. Enterprise customers can also arrange for invoice-based billing.
What are overage packs?
Overage packs are add-on rewrite credits you can purchase when you exceed your monthly plan limit. They come in three sizes: 100 rewrites ($4), 500 rewrites ($17.50), and 1,000 rewrites ($30). Credits carry over indefinitely until used — they never expire.
What is auto-purchase?
Auto-purchase lets you set a rewrite balance threshold so you never run out. When your overage balance drops below the threshold, we automatically charge your payment method on file for a new pack at the size you choose. You can enable, disable, or change this anytime from your billing settings.

What are personal voices?
Personal voices are AI-powered profiles that capture your unique communication style—including tone traits (warmth, directness, formality, enthusiasm, empathy), sentence structure preferences, vocabulary choices, and voice notes. You can create multiple voices for different contexts like client emails, internal memos, or executive briefs.
How do I create a personal voice?
There are three ways: (1) Voice Wizard — paste 3–5 writing samples and AI analyzes your patterns automatically. (2) Voice Interview — have a guided AI conversation about your communication style. (3) Manual — set trait sliders and vocabulary preferences directly. All methods produce a voice you can test in the Playground before going live.
What is Conversational Refinement?
Once you have a voice, you can fine-tune it by chatting with AI in the Playground's Refine tab. Describe changes in natural language—like 'make it more formal' or 'shorter sentences'—and preview proposed adjustments before applying. Every applied refinement creates a new version you can roll back to.
What is the Voice Playground?
The Playground lets you test your personal voices with sample text before using them in real communications. You can see exactly how a voice rewrites content, compare two voices side-by-side, and refine settings with AI—all without affecting your live workflow.
What rewrite actions are available?
Tinker Tone offers several rewrite actions: Rewrite (full rewrite in your voice), Shorter (reduce length), Longer (expand content), Softer (gentler tone), Firmer (more direct), Clearer (improve clarity), and Declutter (remove filler). Team, Business, and Enterprise plans can also generate replies and summarize email threads.
Can I use Tinker Tone on mobile?
Currently, Tinker Tone works best on desktop through our Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote add-ins, and the Teams extension. We're working on mobile support and will announce it when available.

What apps does Tinker Tone integrate with?
Tinker Tone integrates with Microsoft Outlook (desktop and web), Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft OneNote. We're working on support for Gmail and other popular platforms.
Do I need Microsoft 365 to use Tinker Tone?
No, you can use Tinker Tone through our web application without any Microsoft products. However, to use the Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or OneNote add-ins, or the Teams extension, you'll need access to those respective Microsoft services.
Can I use Tinker Tone with Gmail?
Direct Gmail integration is coming soon. In the meantime, you can use the Tinker Tone web app to rewrite emails and then copy them into Gmail.
Privacy & Data
Who can see my content?
Only you can see your content. Our AI processes your content to provide rewrites, but we don't store it permanently (unless you opt-in), and our team members never have access to your content.
Do you use my data to train AI models?
By default, no. You can opt-in to allow us to use anonymized, aggregated data to improve our AI models, but this is entirely optional and can be disabled in your privacy settings.
Is Tinker Tone GDPR compliant?
Yes, we are fully GDPR compliant. We provide data access, correction, deletion, and portability rights. We use standard contractual clauses for international data transfers and maintain transparent data practices.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
When you cancel, you retain access until the end of your billing period. Your data is retained for 30 days (in case you want to reactivate), then permanently deleted after 90 days, except for billing records which we must retain for 7 years per legal requirements.

How do I get help if something isn't working?
You can contact our support team through the contact form, email us at support@thinkneverland.com, or check our documentation for troubleshooting guides. Response times vary by plan: 24-48 hours for Starter, 12-24 hours for Team, 4-12 hours for Business, and 1-4 hours for Enterprise.
What browsers are supported?
Tinker Tone works best on modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. We recommend using the latest version of your browser for the best experience.
Why isn't the add-in appearing in Outlook?
Try restarting Outlook, checking that the add-in is enabled in your add-ins settings, and verifying your Tinker Tone subscription is active. If issues persist, contact our support team.
Enterprise Features
What's included in the Enterprise plan?
Enterprise plans include SSO integration, BYOK encryption, dedicated support with SLA guarantees, SCIM provisioning, unlimited voice profiles, advanced voice analytics, compliance features, and custom contract terms.
Do you offer SSO integration?
Yes, Business and Enterprise customers can integrate with their SSO provider (SAML 2.0) for seamless authentication across their organization.
Can we deploy Tinker Tone on-premises?
We currently offer cloud-hosted deployment. For Enterprise customers with specific compliance requirements, please contact our sales team to discuss your needs.
